'Paradise Alley' Actress Was 65
Joyce Ingalls, a former model and actress and the wife of Emmy-nominated producer Darrell Fetty, has died. She was 65.
Ingalls died on Aug. 5 at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, a representative of her husband said.
Ingalls played a prostitute with a heart of gold who consoled Sylvester Stallone’s character in Paradise Alley (1978), the actor’s directorial debut.
She also appeared in such films as The Man Who Would Not Die (1975), Deadly Force (1983) and Lethal Weapon 4 (1998), and detectives Dave Starsky and Ken Hutchinson competed for her attention on a 1979 episode of ABC’s Starsky and Hutch.
A native of Charleston, S.C., Ingalls won a Cover Girl contest in 1966. She became a top model for the Eileen Ford Agency and appeared on covers and in fashion layouts for such magazines as Vogue, Mademoiselle, Cosmo and Life.
Later, she was the face of a 1973 Yardley ad campaign and appeared for Breck shampoo, Clairol hair products and Black Velvet whiskey.

Fetty, a principal in Thinkfactory Media, received an Emmy nomination in 2013 for his work on the Kevin Costner miniseries Hatfields & McCoys, and he wrote for and produced another History miniseries, the recent Texas Rising.
Ingalls and Fetty were married in 1984 in Studio City at the historic Little Brown Church, and they oversaw a homeless ministry there. Named for the couple, the Darrell and Joyce Fetty Food Pantry has served thousands of needy families for nearly 25 years.
In addition to her husband, survivors include sons Derek and Tyler, mother JoAnn and eight brothers and sisters. A memorial is planned for October.
The family asks that donations be made to the Little Brown Church or the Cancer Support Center in Sherman Oaks.
